Waste

Faced with incivilities and illegal dumping, the community must both improve waste collection and recovery, strengthen prevention, awareness and controls to empower residents.

Our Proposals :

  • Introduce progressive pricing and allow users better control over their consumption;

  • Reduce and optimize the use of large consumers (swimming pools/golf courses/equestrian centers);

  • Extend the network of freely accessible drinking water fountains and communicate about their locations;

  • Facilitate access to information relating to the quality of the water network.

Énergy

The municipality must play its role in the energy transition, by setting an example and encouraging citizens.

Our Proposals :

  • Promote and participate in the citizen cooperative for renewable electricity production;

  • Supporting the development of urban heating networks (CERN energy, biomass, geothermal energy);

  • Encourage homeowners to carry out thermal renovations on their properties through temporary property tax exemptions and aid to the most vulnerable households;

  • Guiding citizens to access existing financial aid for energy-efficient renovations. Helping the most vulnerable households to improve the energy efficiency of their homes;

  • To reduce the municipality's carbon footprint:

    • Choose a low-carbon electricity supplier,

    • Prioritize future investments,

    • Evaluate and regularly publish the carbon footprint of municipal services and the municipality's assets.

Agriculture

Agriculture produced in the Pays de Gex region is essential to our food self-sufficiency.

It is crucial to support local food systems, assist in the establishment of new farms (such as market gardens), and support agricultural conversion projects.

These modes of transport make cities more inclusive, especially for people without cars.

    • To establish a safe network (cycle paths) in the city and between the municipalities of the Pays de Gex,

    • Install bicycle shelters in the city,

Housing

Housing is often the primary concern for residents of the Pays de Gex.

The town and the surrounding area must make this a priority by limiting real estate speculation.
