Electoral roll procedures
If you are a French citizen or a citizen of another European Union member state and you live in France, you can vote in municipal elections. To do so, you must register on the French electoral rolls at the town hall of your place of residence.

Until what date can one register on the electoral lists in order to be able to vote in the municipal elections of March 2026?
If you are not registered to vote and wish to vote in the March 2026 municipal elections, you must register by February 6, 2026!
Please note: This deadline is extended to March 5, 2026, if you are in one of the following situations:

You are 18 years old and have not yet completed your civic registration,
-
You have recently moved,
-
You have recently acquired French citizenship,
-
You have recently regained your right to vote.
Online registration application
To register to vote, you must meet two cumulative conditions :
1) Be eligible to vote:
- Be of legal voting age
- Enjoy full civil and political rights
2) Have a connection to the municipality:
- Either through your primary residence,
- Or through your status as a taxpayer,
- Or through your role as a manager of a company established in the municipality.
IMPORTANT: Citizens of other European Union countries must submit a sworn statement specifying their voter registration status.

Application for registration at the Town Hall
If you have difficulty or are unable to register online, you can go directly to the Town Hall, which will assist you in registering to vote.
To do so, you will need to provide proof of identity, proof of address, and a Cerfa form no. 12669 for voter registration, available at the Town Hall.
Proxy voting
If you are unable to go to the polling station during the municipal election, you can appoint a trusted person to vote on your behalf.
