Associations
Our meetings with local associations have reinforced our belief that the town hall should become the vehicle for coordinating the actions of each and supporting all these actors towards a cultural synergy.
Our Proposals :

Establish the Local Council for Community Life (CoLVA) to support associations based on their commitment to improving quality of life;

Develop a hub for community life;
-
To act on the financing capacity of associations by spreading the City's contributions over several years;
-
Make the town hall a partner and not just a distributor of subsidies;
-
Promote access for all to cultural and sporting activities by building on existing structures (MJC, cultural and sporting associations);
-
Helping children and young people to become active participants in the local community, by giving them guidance, and by promoting their activities (cultural, sporting, leisure) to the residents of the municipality and the surrounding area;

Reschedule the Associations Forum for September, not June.
Sport & Culture
Although the municipality of Gex already offers a wide range of facilities, cultural and sporting events, it is entirely possible to pool initiatives and programs in order to benefit the greatest number of people.
Sport - Our Proposals :

Improve the sports trail on the Journans promenade;

To support sports or cultural projects initiated by teachers;

Create a fitness club for all ages;

Renovate the existing municipal swimming pool.
Culture - Our Proposals :
-
Making public cultural buildings welcoming;
-
Create European twinning and school exchanges (subsidized by Europe);
-
Renew and diversify local entertainment in Gex (e.g., improving the Bird Festival, Gex light festival);
-
Open a youth center: with an animation team, offer free access to group activities (playing billiards, imagining Olympics and theatre);

Promoting the pooling of municipal libraries across the Pays de Gex / registration with the Gex network of municipal libraries;
-
Develop the library's cultural programming and extend its hours on Saturday mornings to coincide with the market.
Intergeneration Activities
Social cohesion between generations is essential for harmonious living together and involves the exchange of knowledge.
Shared activities are a way to combat mistrust between generations and foster a sense of security and peace.
Our Proposals :

Create a solidarity program between young people and "older" people to promote support, exchanges and sharing;

Supporting solidarity initiatives between residents in connection with the associative fabric;

To support / create activities for families, with local fun challenges: foosball, billiards, tarot, belote, and board game competitions;

Organize a friendly party to distribute Christmas parcels to our seniors, and extend the beneficiaries to those aged 70 and over;
-
Create a real Christmas market.
Participatory Democracry & Communication
The practice of local democracy should not be limited to a few weeks during an election campaign every six years.
Participatory democracy is essential at the local level because it allows residents to co-create decisions that impact their daily lives.
It strengthens collective support for local projects. It also promotes inclusion, social innovation, and transparency by giving every resident a voice to address the real and diverse needs of the population.
Participatory Democracy - Our Proposals :

Create neighborhood councils:
In cities where they exist, neighborhood councils allow residents to participate directly in local public life, beyond simply voting in elections. They promote citizen expression and dialogue between elected officials and residents.
Residents are quite familiar with the concrete problems in their neighborhood (traffic, safety, cleanliness, facilities, living environment).
Neighbourhood councils will make it possible to raise these needs, to propose solutions adapted to the local context and to improve the effectiveness of local public action.

Establish a dedicated budget line for the implementation of projects originating from neighborhood councils;

Conduct evaluations of public policies and communicate regularly on their results;

Promote the registration of residents on the electoral list;

Rotate the mayoral mandate for a more horizontal democracy within the majority;
-
Organize local referendums and allow for citizen-initiated referendums;
-
Create a "week of volunteer engagement";
-
Encourage the organization of citizen conferences on various topics integrating academics, economic actors, elected officials and neighborhood councilors;

Adjust the pricing of community halls to benefit residents.
Communication - Our Proposals :

Create a “Welcome Service” for new residents;

Promote the use of free software in municipal services;
-
Develop communication aimed at the people of Gex.
Heritage
The town of Gex and the Pays de Gex region have a rich history and a significant heritage that it is important to preserve and promote.

Strengthen urban planning requirements that respect the heritage of the Gex region;

Restoration of the fresco (700 years old) on rue du commerce as well as the commemorative plaque placed on the wall of the Perdtemps school (visible from the street);

Revitalize the Firefighters Museum;

To study the possibilities for the redevelopment of the former Hôtel des Gentianes;
-
Rehabilitate the Harent mansion and the gardens of the old castle to make them accessible to the people of Gex ;
-
Rehabilitate the industrial area of the former Allex factory;
-
Creation of a museum of Gex heritage: highlighting the history of the Pays de Gex, local writers and artists.
