Our Team
The Better Living team at Gex is committed to establishing an open list: engaged citizens of all different sensitivities.
The political alternative that we propose is not the business of a person followed by others but of people who collectively contribute to renovating political practices. We sincerely believe that we can manage differently in a single goal: Better living at Gex.
Our difference: a municipal team resolutely attentive to the needs of the Gexois, transparent management, participatory and forward-looking.

Vincent BOCQUET
44 years old, Professor of Economic and Social Sciences
Like many residents of Gex, I am a Gex native by choice. As the lead candidate for Mieux Vivre à Gex (Better Living in Gex), I envision a town hall open to citizen participation, socially inclusive, and fully committed to sustainable mobility and everyone's right to a protected environment. So that democracy is not limited to elections every six years, but is lived every day, together.

Iris GAYET - CHICHIGNOUD
30 years old, Communications Specialist
Originally from Gex, I spent my entire youth in Creux du Loup. After studying communications abroad, I worked in the cultural and heritage sector. I decided to return to live in my hometown and would like to improve access to creating a more substantial cultural program.

Amaury FILLION
27 years old, Lawyer
A native of Gex, I am continuing the "Better Living in Gex" adventure, always striving to be part of a citizen-led list representing diverse political backgrounds.
During my experience with the CODEV* (Development Council) from 2021 to 2025, including two years as a delegate, I met our local elected officials and observed, as time went on, the need to reintroduce a human touch, foster greater cooperation both among elected officials and with citizen bodies, uphold the principles of public service, protect our heritage, and above all, develop a truly ambitious master plan for future policies.

Susanna DE PANFILIS
65 years old, 3 children, Teacher
I am convinced that citizen participation in the management of the city is a guarantee of democracy and ensures that their needs are heard. For this to be possible, power must not remain in the hands of a small group of people for too long. "Better Living in Gex" is committed to rotating the mayor's position throughout the term. It is this commitment to collegiality that drew me to the list. I am sure that together, we can move towards a more equitable housing policy, towards the creation of a more functional local healthcare service, towards an ecological transition for citizens and not against them, towards a community where everyone feels safe and fulfilled.

François BAILLON
53 years old, 2 children, Engineer
As a project coordinator in the non-profit sector, I leverage networks to create partnerships and secure funding. A native of the Pays de Gex region and actively involved in local affairs, I serve as treasurer of the Ateliers de Gex and participate in the Greater Geneva metropolitan forum. My commitment is to democratizing municipal governance to boost the vitality of our community.

Marie-France MARTINEZ
55 ans, married, 1 child, gexoise since 15 years old.
I have been a craftswoman and shopkeeper in Gex for 10 years. I hold degrees in Textile Art and Printing, as well as in Jewelry and Gemstone Art. I have 20 years of experience in the Lyon region's industry. My philosophy for "a better life in Gex" is to promote local French craftsmanship in this beautiful historic town and make art and culture accessible to every citizen.

Sébastien MARQUE
55 years old, Engineer
I am joining the “Better living in Gex” list to do things differently from local politics (“collective intelligence”) and to deploy the “Energy Transition” in the town and in the Agglo.

Roselyne MOINGEON
62 years old, 5 children, Horticulture teacher
A former landscape designer and now a horticulture teacher, I am passionate about bringing to life all kinds of projects related to nature and the environment. Ecology is no longer an option; it is an essential dimension that must be protected.

Joël BROC
61 years old, 5 children, Sales executive who retrained as a German teacher.
Having been president of a parents' association for a long time, I wish to commit myself to a more united and more ecological community, by developing public transport and accessible housing.

Janine BERG
54 years old, 2 children, Economist
I've lived in Gex for 15 years and I believe that with better planning, the town could fully realize its potential. Instead of enhancing the historic center, it has become a shortcut used daily by thousands of cars. Gex needs to invest in bike paths and consider pedestrianizing certain streets. Increased support for local entrepreneurs and artists would revitalize the town.

Thierry LEMAIRE
67 years old, 2 children, Retired
I am joining the "Better Living in Gex" team to implement key points: truly participatory governance, an ambitious ecological transition policy (energy, transport), and an increased presence within the Agglomeration Community.

Lucia VARESANO
57 years old, Kitchen worker
I am originally from the Pays de Gex region. Proud to be part of the "Better Living in Gex" team, I embarked on this adventure with the desire to improve our quality of life. I want to see our town better protect the environment, offer facilities and activities for young people and adults, and ensure that residents feel at home here.

Marco PAPA
30 years old, Head of an alarm and dispatch center on a university campus in Lausanne
I am originally from the Pays de Gex region and have been a resident for over six years.
I want to bring energy, a vision, and projects that align with the perspective of young people and a civic life that is more inclusive, closer to its environment, and focused on socio-cultural support and safety for all.
I intend to highlight strong ideas for change based on these values that are dear to me and equally important to our fellow citizens of Gex.

Lucy REW
54 years old, Civil Engineer
I have lived in Gex since 2002 and work in Annecy. Actively involved in community life in Gex since 2013, I am a member of the board of directors of the MJC (Youth and Culture Center) and a volunteer speaker. Running for office for the third time, I wish to contribute to an active democratic life and encourage the participation of Gex residents in the life of their town.

Having served the people of Gex as a municipal councilor since 2020, I am committed to continuing my work for our town. Philippe GRAND
59 years old, Independent Entrepreneur
Without any political affiliation, I offer my skills and experience to serve the residents of Gex and actively contribute to local life and the future of our community. With over 40 years of experience in financial management within the humanitarian and cultural sectors, my seven years of experience as a family caregiver have strengthened my listening skills, sense of responsibility, and commitment to practical solidarity.

Murielle CHARRE
60 years old, 4 children, outgoing municipal councillor
Originally from Boulogne-sur-Mer, I served as your councilor during the 2020 term. A stay-at-home mother of four, and a resident of Gex for 40 years, I have always been involved in various community organizations. I believe it is essential that our children grow up well and that we ourselves age well. To achieve this, we must protect our environment and ensure that every resident of Gex can participate not only during municipal elections but throughout the entire term through neighborhood councils and the implementation of a participatory budget. By voting for "Better Living in Gex," you will help improve the daily lives of all Gex residents!

Justin WILLETT
35 years old, Librarian
I am convinced that a rich and truly diverse cultural offering makes a city more vibrant and peaceful. It's time to meet the expectations of Gex's 14,000 residents. The "Better Living in Gex" list is committed to this, with a strong program to develop local events and revitalize cultural institutions. A network of cycle paths in Gex and the Pays de Gex region as a whole is also essential.

Cécile BARRÉ
42 years old, AESH
Having worked with young people for over 13 years, and with a deep connection to the mountains and sustainable transportation, I advocate for a community that prioritizes education, culture, the environment, and social cohesion. Passionate about arts and crafts, I am committed to helping build a community where everyone can find their place.

François THUARD
48 years old, Resident of Gex since 2004, one child.
I worked as an engineer in industry for about fifteen years, then as a teacher at a general high school. Since moving to the Pays de Gex region, I have had the opportunity to be involved with the Libellules community center, the church, and a condominium association. My goal: to be of service.

Carolyn IBOS-STICKLAND
56 years old, Manager and owner of Belle Ferme Equestrian Sports
Born in Geneva, I have lived in the Pays de Gex since 1974, the year I turned five. From the end of my studies—and even before—I dedicated my life to our family business, which began as a small pony club in Cessy in 1983, then moved to Belle Ferme in Gex in March 1996, so 43 years since our beginnings, followed by 30 years at Belle Ferme. Today, I passionately manage a large and thriving business with around a hundred ponies and horses and a dozen employees. It's a fulfilling life that has kept me in this beautiful region, which has undeniably always been my home and where I intend to stay.

Robert KOPPANYI
60 years old, Shopkeeper
A resident of our region since 1974, I have spent decades involved in local life—from helping farmers in their fields as a child to running my bicycle shop today. My varied career path has taught me the value of hard work and the importance of being someone my neighbors can rely on.
I am joining this list to bring greater transparency and integrity to our town hall, ensuring that our administration meets the highest standards of accountability. I firmly believe that our local government must serve its citizens with the same dedication and care that I give to every customer who walks through the door of my shop.

Corinne PERRÉAL
60 years old, 2 children, French as a Foreign Language teacher
Originally from the Pays de Gex region, my professional life and personal experiences have been guided by listening, respect, and mutual support.
Our quality of life has declined due to the slow but steady disappearance of local shops, the rise in all kinds of incivilities, the difficulty in accessing housing, the lack of doctors, and the incoherence of the urban planning. Our town has unfortunately fallen asleep.
It is for all these reasons that I decided to join Mieux Vivre à Gex (Better Living in Gex), which offers an ambitious, people-centered project that will bring renewed joy to the citizens of Gex.

Frédéric METRAL

I use my bike every day to get to work. We need to think about our cycle paths not just for leisure, but also as an efficient means of transport, and an alternative to the car.
